My Angel, My Light as Darkness Falls

My Angel, My Light as Darkness Falls is a wonderful hybrid of a book. It has elements of Regency romance (a splendid ball and a noble suitor), elements of gothic horror (a demon and various dark powers including an ancient vampire), and elements of coming of age story (the sheltered heroine has to learn to care for herself). It is frightening, sad and laugh-aloud funny (had me giggling hysterically when the heroine pondered on what to do with the Frenchman she had in the closet). Read this if you have a taste for the seriously bonkers but touching "different" romance
